Teeth whitening for a bright white smile for a bright white smile

Several factors can affect the color of your teeth: coffee, tea or red wine, not to mention tobacco. Food, the natural aging process, an excess of fluoride in infancy and some medications may also cause teeth to loose their bright white color.

Professional whitening does not damage the enamel. However, the use of abrasive toothpaste not recommended by the Canadian Dental Association can cause damage.

Benefits of bleaching:

  • Our bleaching trays are customizable; they adjust to the shape of your teeth, which ensures greater ease at use and a uniform result.
  • Only one session is needed to obtain great results.
  • If you have composites, bleaching will have no effect on them. You may change them later to obtain more harmonious results.

Tips to follow when whitening:

  • Perform proper brushing and flossing before using the bleaching trays. Place the bleaching gel in the front portion of your trays. Then insert trays in your mouth for a period of time pre-determined by your dentist or dental hygienist.
  • After wearing the trays for the pre-determined length of time, remove the trays from your mouth, rinse them and clean them carefully with a toothbrush to prevent damage.
  • When whitening, the consumption of foods that can stain teeth, such as red wine, blueberries, tomato sauce, coffee or carbonated beverages should be avoided. It is also advised not to smoke during the whitening process.
  • You may experience some teeth and gum discomfort. If the pain is too intense, stop bleaching for one or two days. If the problem persists, consult your dentist.
